5. Escape to Mt Coot-tha

Mt Coot-tha offers a breathtaking view from its summit lookout (one that extends as far as the Sunshine Coast hinterland on a clear day).

Around 6km (4 miles) west of central Brisbane, locals and visitors alike also come here for gentle bushwalks and more-challenging treks.

6. Wynnum/Manly Bay

The Bayside area is popular among visitors for a tidal wading pool, small beach area, connected parks and children’s playground, as well as numerous, mostly uninhabited islands, just off the coast.

Features along the foreshore include extensive mangrove swamps, Pandanus Beach, Wynnum Jetty, Wynnum Wading Pool, Darling Point, Manly Beach, Norfolk Point, Manly Boat Harbour and Fig Tree Point.

7. Powerhouse Theatre

The Powerhouse Theatre offers more than world-class comedy, cabaret, music, kids-shows, cultural events and theatre.

9. Eat Street Markets Northside on the Brisbane City Cat

Sail in on Brisbane’s water ferry to grab a great glimpse of Brisbane from the river. Then experience 180 eateries showcasing food from all four corners of the world in a street-food village made up of repurposed shipping containers.
